When you exert a great effort and expend a lot of energy like you do when you hit the ball, you should exhale to let the energy out and some players can't help but scream, grunt or shriek. They unintentionally make sound.

It's absurd and preposterous to claim that they do that to confuse and baffle their opponents. Some of the opponents were actually asked if the shrieks and the grunts on the other side of the court affect their game and i remember Mauresmo saying the grunts are actually more annoying when you're a spectator than when you're playing on the other side of the court.

Have you heard a player complaining about the shrieks and grunts by their opponents? I haven't. What i've heard is that they don't affect the opponent's game like what Mauresmo said.

The spectators are the ones actually complaining but not the players who play the opponents who shrieks or grunts.
