because its of good quality and they usually do last longer, but you have to consider why: The structure of lithium ion and silver batteries is very stable, so until they are exhausted, they can survive a long time. But the total power capacity of these batteries is TINY. The reason they last so long is that they are used in devices that require very VERY small amounts of power. If you were to use one of these batteries in, say, a standard flashlight, they would last a very few minutes at most, and would not provide much light even for that period of time.
