Google Web glasses, a vision of science fiction

It is a vision put forward by the Terminator, Wednesday, Google, with small glasses for superimposing various information in the field of view of the user. This device, called “augmented reality”, is still less scary than the viewfinder’s integrated killer cyborg played by Arnold Schwarzenegger, but it foreshadows a future where the Web is ubiquitous in everyday life, regardless of where we are, with the ability to access services such as GPS steering with inlay on the field of view or the sending of small emails by voice command.

The device called “Glass Project” is still in prototype stage, but the small transparent screen placed above the eye is already much more discreet than the big goggles systems offered by other companies.

Google has not shown the device in operation, but released a short video showing, from the perspective of the user, how the service might work. We see how one person can view appointments of the day with his first cup of coffee, check the weather before heading out into the streets of New York, changed its route along the way, exchanging messages with a friend, all Obviously, with the services provided by Google!

The challenge of this system, which is part of the trend of “computers ready to wear,” Google is an opportunity to expand the accessibility of all its services, and advertising that accompanies them, in addition to smartphones , on which it is already present with its Android system. Last February, rumors also announced that the glasses will work just as Google Android.

Apple is also studying this kind of augmented reality, evidence for a patent filed in 2008 on a system of screens built into eyeglasses. But Google seems to have gotten a head start on his great rival, as the New York Times reports that Google has poached one of Apple’s leading experts in the field, Richard DeVaul.

The “Glass Project” was developed in the heart of a new top-secret laboratory in California, Google X, which is working on other projects with high potential exotic, like the car that drives itself.

5 reasons why should not buy the new ipad + 5

As soon a the new iPad was released the Apple crazy fan following was a buzz with whether they have to buy the new iPad or not.Really why should you buy a product when you see no new feature which pulls you to the Apple glass shop.As a proud owner of iPad 2 I had the same question and went to collect the following reasons why i should not buy the new iPad piece.

  • Reason 1: You already own an iPad

If you have an iPad2 then it still suits all your needs since the issues in the new iPad are being discovered and no guarantee what might surprise you like the battery issue in the new iPad.The new iPad features which you might not even notice in day today’s life so it is worth to hold to your loving device which you already own.

  • Reason 2: iPad 2 accessories which you already own may not necessarily work on the new iPad

Remember the new speaker stand you bought or the gaming accessory you enjoy with the iPad2.All those accessories which worked with the iPad2 are not guaranteed to work with the new iPad and it has been so long since you bought the accessory that even the vendor will not recognized it.Also there lot of people who just label the accessories as new iPad compatible but how far they have tested it is still a question.

  • Reason 3: There is no change in the size

If you happen to look at the new iPad you would have noticed that you are not able to distinguish it with its predecessor for the simple fact being that the new iPad has the same size as iPad2 and that makes it look exactly same.

  • Reason 4: The better display seems just a hype

Marketing gimic is just not the right word for retina display technology which the new Apple iPad displays. The technology differences are there but for a normal eye to make out difference would be a bit extreme task.If you are thinking of holding one of your photo which you know have both on your iPad2 and the new iPad then i think forget it.

  • Reason 5: 4G is expensive

For now the 4G technology which the new Apple iPad boosts about is still in premature status with many of the ISP and telecom vendors so when the whole world is still waiting for the 4G to become an bigger fruit, you are risking to eat the sour fruit. And if you are one of the few frequent flier who find passion in traveling then many countries are still not aware of the 4G technology. So better to hold on with the 3G technology as of now.The modems which allow you to connect to internet also might not be compatible with the new iPad.

  • Reason 6: There are lots of new tablets in the market which are worth a try.

If you are not so crazy with the Apple and wanted to try out some new device it is well worth to spend on the Galaxy tab from Samsung or buy a amazon Kindle fire to just look at what others are staring at.Imagine the power of Google Android and full open source platform with apps you would have imagined and also the able to play flash on any website with your normal browser.

  • Reason 7: Apple has not added a USB port yet

An USB port is still a charmer and benefits in many ways.Yes you get accessories to connect camera and what not but still a device with inbuilt USB is worth to own i suppose.I am actually looking for reasons still. One might able to connect a external portable hard drive to your iPad.

  • Reason 8: Apple has not added an external storage slot
  • Reason 9: You can save money for something more important

When you save money by not buying the new iPad you have choice to spend it on something that is more important to you or that makes you happy.

If you are not so eager to find the reasons not to buy the new iPad you would have noticed that there are only 9 reasons listed and where is the last reason well it is just in below ad which does not seem to persuade me to buy the new iPad.

Way2sms To Launch Android app

Way2sms the portal that allows its users to freely SMS anybody in India will be launch it’s  first android app in the coming months. This is in the wake of the current regulations from the Indian telecom authority TRAI.The SMS portal got lots of queries whether they will cease to exist after announcement from TRAI’s strict rules for no tolerance for marketing sms but the portal survived and now it is venturing into a new area.

The way2sms app will be launched for the android platform and thof followed by the BlackBerry and the iPhone versions. It will be a messenger like service and it will boost the SMS vertical which lost its relevance post-smartphone invasion. The current TRAI regulation has also hit the SMS market big time. “Although the new regulation on daily SMS limits is more relaxed and exempts certain businesses, we did lose about 16-17 per cent of our business because of the ban,” said Raju. He, however, declined to divulge further details on how the new app would be different from Whatsapp and other such features.

Twitter – Who Owns Your Feed

The first lawsuit in the United States could settle the question of who owns a Twitter feed written by an employee of a company.

The blogger Noah Kravitz, who was to work to test new products for the company PhoneDog between 2006 and 2010, is now pursued by his former employer.

According to the text of the complaint, filed in July in federal court in California, when Mr. Kravitz has “suddenly resigned” in October 2010, his employer asked him to give up his Twitter account, titled @ PhoneDog_Noah, which was followed by 17,000 Internet users.

Mr. Kravitz refused to do so, simply change the title of the thread, just now @ noahkravitz. And since then he has been hired by a competitor, TechnoBuffalo, and uses its Twitter feed “to denigrate PhoneDog.”

PhoneDog is seeking $ 340,000 in damages, based on a value of $ 2.50 per user according to his wire, or 42,500 dollars a month for eight months.

Quoted Thursday by the New York Times, Mr. Kravitz testified that he had left PhoneDog on good terms, and with the consent of the company for it “‘tweets’ in the name (of society) from time to time “.

Yet he found the target of legal proceedings eight months later, he interpreted as a maneuver of reprisals after he claimed 15% of gross advertising revenue PhoneDog.

For its part PhoneDog defended himself in a statement released by the newspaper: “The costs and resources invested by PhoneDog Media to advance its reputation and its number of subscribers in social media are important, PhoneDog Media considers them his property “.

“We intend to act decisively to protect our client lists and confidential information, as well as our intellectual property and brands,” added the company.

A lawyer intellectual property issues, Henry Cittone, argued that the case would “set a precedent in the online world in terms of ownership of accounts on social media.”

“Many of our customers are concerned about issues of ownership of accounts on social media,” said Cittone, also quoted by The New York Times.

Google publishes interactive pictures of the area devastated by the tsunami

The Japanese subsidiary of U.S. Internet giant Google Tuesday introduced a vast bank of interactive images of the zone of northeastern Japan devastated by the earthquake and tsunami of March 11, to browse the area and compared with the previous situation.

These views were mostly taken from the month of July in the prefectures of Miyagi, Iwate, Fukushima, Ibaraki, Yamagata and Aomori, most affected by the disaster that left nearly 20,000 dead or missing.

Google vehicles traveled 44,000 kilometers of roads in these provinces Tohoku (northeast), capturing the 360-degree views of 82 cities and villages and the coupling to a base map, using the technique “Street View”.

These images, where we see the piles of debris, gutted buildings, transformed into the vast wasteland, boats overturned, show the magnitude of the earthquake and tsunami.

At the request of users, Google Japan has compiled alongside images of the same region before the earthquake, providing a comparison tool that shows the extent of damage, many homes and other buildings have been razed to the ground.

Google hoped that these documents will provide useful elements for the scientific community to better understand what happened March 11, 2011 and maintain a set of archives for future generations.
