More than 360,000 accounts involved in the attack against Citigroup

The computer attack that targeted the bank in May, Citigroup has committed more than 360,000 clients, according to new estimates announced Wednesday by the bank, twice the initial assessment.

Citigroup, the third U.S. bank by assets, revealed on June 8 have been the victim of a cyber attack to its network that allowed hackers to access personal data of some of its customers.

A total of 360,083 accounts for credit card holders in North America were concerned, the bank said.

New credit cards were made available to holders of 217,657 accounts.
