Safe Browsing API that is used by Google to block malicious sites, will now cover downloads.

Indeed, with Safe Browsing API the user is warned before accessing a site listed as”suspicious.”He can still continue his peril if he wishes.

In addition to being present on Chrome, Firefox and Safari already incorporate this protection system.

But the company goes further and intends to provide users of its browser, a new feature that will protect them from malware when they try to download files

A message will appear alerting the user that he is about to acquire an infected file.
