Facebook deletes accounts of 20,000 children every day

The social networking site Facebook just announced that it removes daily accounts of 20,000 children too young to be enrolled. All minors are expected to seek permission from their parents, but obviously does nothing to enforce this rule. Children enroll mostly with a false date of birth. Mozelle Thompson, responsible for the confidentiality of the social network, says that “the system is not perfect” but said that Facebook is “intractable with children under 13 years. ”
According to a U.S. study published earlier this month, 46% of U.S. children under 12 years are registered on Facebook. Educate parents about this restriction would make them perhaps to ban social networks for their children when they are not parents themselves who create an account for their offspring! Facebook is still provides a form to expose the profile of a minor child.
