The micro blogging site Twitter announced Wednesday that it launched its own service overlay photos and videos in messages that compete with services provided by third parties so far as Twitpic or Yfrog .

“We provide an experience of photo sharing in native Twitter,” said the CEO of Twitter Dick Costolo D9 at the conference, organized by the news website All Things Digital in Rancho Palos Verdes (California, U.S. West States).

“The reason for this is that we must eliminate friction (which slows down) the embedding of pictures in Twitter,” said Costolo, who said that pictures would be part and parcel of a message, Instead of being accessed by clicking to open another tab.

With this initiative, Twitter takes up a new activity hitherto provided by one of several outside companies that seek to improve its system.

Last week the California company had done differently when you buy the service management Tweetdeck Twitter messages, rather than developing a similar service internally.

“Millions of people share photos every day. We will make it increasingly easy. In the coming weeks, we will develop a feature to upload photos and attach them to a Tweet (message) directly from Twitter. Of course, this feature is also available from our official mobile applications, “said Twitter on his blog.

This function should be available for all of the approximately 200 million Twitter users in approximately two weeks.
